Self-Sufficient Village
1980-current

John Pflueger has combined his research of ancient cultures and sacred sites with studies in Jin Shin Jystu, Feng Shui, Bacqua, Numerology and his commitment to save energy. The original generic Village of Self-Sufficiency in China was copyrighted by John Pflueger in 1984. A clinic was built in the jungle of Guatemala. He designed a Self-Sufficient Village for a doctor curing blindness in Gambia, Africa as well as the Village School for a site in Punaluu, Hawaii. He applied this model of Self Sufficiency to health and fitness resorts around the world. The Self-Sufficient concepts have been implemented in all master plans to not only respect the environment, but to exist in harmony with the universe. The resort, recreation and wellness resorts designed for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Tubac, Arizona; Clear Lake, California; as well as various sites in Hawaii and Australia incorporate the Self-Sufficient concepts and are oriented to the cardinal points of the universe, as were all sacred sites. The facilities require a minimum amount of energy by their design and produce their own energy with systems using water, wind and sun.
